Tell us something about your musical background - such as which other bands you've been in, who you've been influenced by, what instruments you play, etc.
I've been in lots of great bands, but this is the best. My tastes are all over the place, yet I always come back to my roots; funky, heavy riff-rock. That's Sharks. My favorite bassists are Tim Bogert, Glenn Hughes, Andy Fraser and Bootsy Collins.

If ("if"???) you were talking to someone about Sharks, what would you say about the band - how would you describe the music, the gigs, the vibe, etc?
Soulful and intense. Heavy, but you can dance to it. We light up (and DRESS up) onstage.

What's the best gig you've ever seen, and what made it so?
Wings at Madison Square Garden - absolute perfection.

What are your top five favorite albums of all time, and for each one why?
Glenn Hughes - "Play Me Out" - funky and spacey
James Brown - "Star Time" - a compilation, so maybe not fair, but four cds without any dead wood
Led Zeppelin I - Saw them at the Fillmore East in '70... nuff said
The Doors - Supreme white blues
Black Sabbath - "Masters of Reality" - as heavy as it gets

What's the proudest moment in your life/career, and why?
When a band, after so much work, is ready for take off. It's like giving birth.

Me - bass/harp, Mark Stein - keyboards/vocals, Mel Galley - guitar/vocals, Jimmy Nolen - guitar, Andy Newmark - drums, Rachel and Tom Jones - vocals.

Alive or dead, fact or fiction, who are your top heroes or heroines?
My dad, my mom, my wife, my band.

What's your ultimate ambition?
To sound great... and be heard.
